<< BackGlobal Engagement Program
As Fairleigh Dickinson University continues on its mission in the
preparation of world citizens, a new program has been developed that
will enable students to track their journey in global learning and
receive recognition for reaching significant levels of achievement in
their activities.
The Global Engagement program (GEO) gives
students the opportunity to document their involvement in global
education and receive recognition during their participation in the
program and at graduation. Students who successfully complete the
program will receive a certificate of completion, a stole/pin to wear at
commencement and a notation on their official transcript. This will
offer students a way to demonstrate for employers, organizations and
themselves their commitment to increased global learning through
engagement.
The GEO program is open to FDU undergraduate
students from all majors. Points can be earned through completion of
globally themed courses and a wide variety of other international
activities (e.g., language courses, study abroad, cultural events,
global lectures, internships, community service, etc.). Students in the
GEO Program will be able to participate at their own pace, and the
structure of the program is very flexible, since students select their
own point-earning activities. Students can begin in the program any time
by completing the GEO program registration form. Once registered, they
will be assigned to a faculty mentor who will help guide them in their
journey in global education.
